AKP government’s political genocide operations continue. Unable to break the resistance of Kurdish people, the AKP continues its detainments and arrests.
VAN
Special operations police officers raided houses in the Bostaniçi and Xaçort neighborhoods of Van’s İpekyolu district this morning. 7 people, whose names are not yet known, were detained as police officers besieged the neighborhoods with armored vehicles. Families of the detainees were insulted and the detainees were beaten during the detainments. The 7 detainees were taken to the provincial Anti-Terror unit.
Police officers also detained HDP District Co-President Recep Canlancı, former DBP District Co-President Yakup Almaç and Aykan Kılıç in Van’s Özalp district. The 3 detainees were taken to the District Gendarme Headquarters.
DERSİM
Ferhat Sakman, a civilian from Şırnak who was visiting his brother in Dersim, was arrested at a gendarme checkpoint on Mazgirt Seyidli Bridge. Sakman was taken to the District Gendarme Headquarters, and then to the Courthouse after he gave his statement. Sakman was arrested on the charge of "membership in an organization" and taken to Tunceli Prison. Sakman will later be sent to Elazığ E-type Prison.
