The DTK issued a call asking everyone to stand up against the summary executions in South Kurdistan.
The Democratic Society Congress (DTK) made a statement regarding the killing of Mesopotamian Workers' Association Member Hüseyin Arasan, who died on Saturday as a result of injuries sustained in an armed attack in Sulaymaniyah.
The statement said: "This fascist regime has made patriotic Kurdish academics, journalists and politicians targets with the help of the KDP. In the last year, 5 patriotic Kurds have been killed by such attacks, including a woman, academici Nagihan Akarsel.
Instead of preserving Kurdistan, the KDP is creating a favourable environment for the fascist Turkish regime to act. They protect their personal interests by paving the way for attacks and did not allow any investigation because they are partners in these executions as well as in the use of chemical weapons in the Kurdistan region."
The statement also drew attention to the siege of Maxmur camp, and added: "The fascist Turkish regime wants Shengal to lose its status and attack with the help of the KDP. They want to evacuate it with the same embargo it has imposed on Maxmur. The same is true in Rojava."
Call on authorities
The statement added: "We extend our condolences to the family of Hüseyin Arasan and the Kurdish people. We call on all Kurdish parties and institutions to stand firm against these attacks. Do not let the Kurdish people's hopes be dashed in the centennial of the Treaty of Lausanne. We call on human rights organizations, democratic forces and the United Nations to take action against these attacks that violate international law and human rights."
