Reports say an election witness was abducted and tortured by the KDP in Hewlêr during the parliamentary elections in Southern Kurdistan on Sunday.
Reports say an election witness was abducted and tortured by the KDP in Hewlêr during the parliamentary elections in Southern Kurdistan on Sunday.
According to an article by the NRT, Nifshê Nû election observer Harûn Nasih was abducted by KDP security forces in Hewlêr on Sunday.
Nasih said he objected when he saw irregular behavior and was abducted and taken to a location outside the city by KDP security forces.
Nasih said he was tortured and threatened with death. He was released later.
Photographs of Nasih taken afterwards show signs of severe battery, and he has been receiving treatment in the Hewlêr hospital.
