Explosion kills two children in Kirkuk

Two children were killed and two others injured in the explosion of a bomb in the village of Edliye near Kirkuk.

Two children were killed in an explosion in northern Iraq on Monday evening. Two other children were injured. The explosion occurred in the village of Edliye near Kirkuk when the children lit a fire while playing.

According to the security forces, the bomb was a legacy of the Baath regime. The region is riddled with unexploded bombs from the Saddam regime, but also from the Iraq wars and the fighting against ISIS.
