As murderous attacks by state forces continue in Amed's central Sur district for 32 days, bodies of İsa Oran and Mesut Seviktek who were killed by police on 23 December haven't been handed over to their families yet.
Families of both youths will start hunger strike at Human Rights' Association (IHD) office today to reclaim the bodies of their children who were killed by special operation police 10 days ago.
İsa Oran's father Mehmet Oran stated that they haven't been able to receive his son's body despite all the efforts and talks with Turkish authorities. Oran said they have been informed by officials that the bodies are being held in Kurşunlu Mosque, adding that they will go on hunger strike today as a final effort to get them.
IHD Amed branch chair Raci Bilici said the governor and prosecutor whom they talked to on behalf of the two families have refused to give the bodies to them, adding; “We stand by the families and do whatever is necessary to reclaim the bodies."
