The families of Mazlum Dağ and Abdurrahman Er, who were sentenced to death by the Kurdistan Regional Government, have met with intellectuals and writers in Southern Kurdistan (Bashur).

Kurdish young men Mazlum Dağ and Abdurrahman Er, who are accused of the murder of Turkish MIT member Osman Köse at the Hoqqabaz restaurant in Hewlêr [Erbil] on July 19, were arrested by the Bashur asayish (public security) and sentenced to death.

Dağ and Er's parents demanded the lifting of the death penalty during their meetings with various political parties and youth organizations in Bashur.

'THE EXECUTION OF KURDISH YOUTH CANNOT BE TOLERATED'

The families of Mazlum Dağ and Abdurrahman Er came together with intellectuals and writers from Bashur and asked for support. The families said, "We came here to join our hands. Our children's hands are not contaminated with the blood of any Kurd. Those who died that day are enemies. It is unacceptable to execute Kurdish youth just because he killed his enemy."

Intellectuals stated that they would support the families.
