The final declaration of the conference organized by the Shengal Autonomous Administration in Shengal on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the 3 August 2014 genocide with the slogan of ‘Justice and Freedom for the Yazidi Community’ was published.

The declaration was read by Conference Preparation Committee member Argeş Shengalî.

Shengalî said that a message of ‘justice and freedom’ was conveyed at the conference, as well as the demand for the trial of ISIS mercenaries and the Barzani family who surrendered Shengal to the Islamic State.

The final declaration said:

"– All European countries, starting with the Iraqi government, should recognize the genocide and in this way ‘rights, law, justice’ should be provided for the Yazidi people.

– In order for justice to be achieved, the Yazidi people’s right to self-defense and governance should be recognized.

– The European Court of Human Rights and The Hague Court of Justice should try ISIS and its collaborators and the traitorous Barzani family in order for ‘rights, law, justice’ to be provided.

– International countries, especially the Iraqi government, should cancel the 9 October Agreement and prevent the Turkish state from attacking Shengal.

– The one who protected the Yazidis from genocide and created the idea of ​​the Democratic Nation was Leader Apo. The Yazidi people defended themselves with the ideas and philosophy of Leader Apo and built the Autonomous Administration system.

– The democratic nation creates the power of solution for all the peoples in Iraq.

– Leader Apo’s freedom is our freedom. We will continue our political and legal struggle just as we have fought for his freedom until today.

– Both the Iraqi people and the Iraqi government should know that if they want to distance themselves from social, political, religious, sectarian, ethnic and economic discussions, the only way to do this is through the Democratic Nation.

– All Yazidi people know that the way to prevent the decrees and to achieve their rights and freedoms is through a Democratic Nation. This was built in Shengal. Therefore, all Yazidis must return to their lands and fight for their freedom. The people of Shengal must return to Shengal and support the struggle of the Yazidis. At the same time, we call on all Yazidi friends and democrats to support the struggle of the Yazidi people more.

– On this basis, our conference has successfully concluded. We respectfully commemorate the martyrs of the 74 genocides. We will grow our struggle to protect ourselves from the genocides and to govern ourselves. We will not forget the genocide and will not let it be forgotten. Justice will not be served for the Yazidi people until the perpetrators of the genocide are tried. We will grow our struggle until justice is not provided for the Yazidi people."
