Herbo, who pointed out the occupation of the Turkish state in South Kurdistan, said that there was no difference between the fires in Shengal and the explosions in Qamishlo and Kirkuk.
Faris Herbo, Co-Chair of the Executive Committee of the Shengal Assembly spoke to a solidarity program on Stêrk TV, about the attacks of the Turkish state and the fires destroying the land in Shengal.
Herbo, who pointed out the occupation of the Turkish state in South Kurdistan, said that there was no difference between the fires in Shengal and the explosions in Qamishlo and Kirkuk and added: "In Baghdad too wheat and grain stores are set on fire. The Iraqi government should investigate this situation very well."
Turkey and Iran, said Herbo, are carrying out "a dirty politics to destroy Iraq's economy. These states have their hands in the fires. Unfortunately, some inside Iraq also supported these states and help themimplementing their plans. In Shengal, 15 thousand acres of land were burned and people lost their lives. There are two reasons for the fires in Shengal. The first is to create tension between the people of Shengal and the administration. Secondly, to prevent people to return to these lands. By doing so, they want to stop life in Shengal. Unfortunately, despite all this, a response from the Iraqi government has yet to come."
Iraqi government does not want people to return to Shengal
Herbo said: "The Iraqi government does not want our people to return to their lands." He reminded of the horrors lived by the people of Shengal, especially women and added that "people are still living in difficult conditions."
Call for solidarity with the people of Shengal
Herbo reminded of the "corridor opened with the blood of the Yazidi youth in 2014. The Iraqi government and the Yazidi institutions decided to open the corridor but the Iraqi government did not fulfill its promise. Otherwise it would not close an eye on the occupation of South Kurdistan."
Calling everyone to express their solidarity with the people of Shengal Herbo said: "We are calling on our people to look at Shengal and come back to our land. The security of Shengal is very good."
