Attacks by special operation teams are getting heavier in Amed's central Sur district where a curfew remains in effect for 14 uninterrupted days.

The district is witnessing an extraordinary activity since the murder of Amed Bar President Tahir Elçi in a shady armed attack near the historical Foor Footed Minaret on 28 November. Elçi was killed in the wake of a press statement defending the protection of historical structures after the Four Footed Minaret was targeted and damaged by an obviously deliberate attack the week before.

The area of historical Kurşunlu Mosque, which was also set ablaze and greatly damaged during last week's onslaught by state forces, is one of the main locations where attacks by operation police intensify.

A bomb fired by police forces hit a civilian house near the mosque, leaving 4 people from the same family injured.

On the other hand, one other person is reported to have got wounded as a result of attacks by special operation teams again in the mosque area.
