Gerîla TV has released footage from the action of self-sacrifice which targeted the Durak outpost of Turkish army in Hakkari's Şemdinli district on October 9.

HPG had given the following details regarding the action in a statement released on October 10:

“Guerrillas carried out a comprehensive action targeting the Durak outpost in Hakkari’s Şemzinan district at 09:35 on October 9. A car bomb operated by Şiyar Serxwebun exploded inside the perimeters of the outpost after it passed through the outpost's gates. 5 armored vehicles, 4 towers, 3 entrance gates, 13 positions, 2 containers and over 10 one-storey buildings were destroyed as a result of the explosion. Guerrillas also targeted 6 other positions after the explosion and destroyed 3 of these.

58 soldiers, many of whom are ranking officers, were killed in the action, after which 22 ambulances, 3 ambulance helicopters and 8 armored vehicles retrieved the dead and injured soldiers.

The action was carried out to protest the isolation of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan and commemorate the guerrillas that recently fell as martyrs in Şemzinan and Çukurca as well as the 4 civilians massacred in Gever.

Mümin Uras (Şiyar Serxwebun) had joined the Kurdistan Freedom Movement from Van province in 2013 and quickly developed himself as a militant that has always been prepared for duty with a spirit of sacrifice.”
