The “curfew” in 27 villages in Amed's Lice district was removed at 18:00 Wednesday evening.
Roads leading to these villages, which are constantly placed under curfew due to military operations, were blocked with trenches and piled up stones by Turkish troops.
Local people reported that Turkish forces raided several houses and detained dozens during the curfew for three weeks.
Most recently, the forested land in Yolçatı village was set on fire and a number of trees burned down due to the fire which was extinguished thanks to the rain.
Villagers stated that forest fires become an ordinary incident in these months every year, and voiced concerns over similar cases likely to be witnessed in the following days and weeks.
