Turkish Gendarme General Commander Yaşar Güler made striking confessions regarding the extent of the ongoing fighting in the rural areas of Hakkari's Çukurca district.

Contrary to the 'we are running a successful operation in the region' remarks of Turkish media and Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım, Güler said they are giving a life and death struggle.

Güler stated that they will enter the '12 points' held by guerrillas in time, admitting that they have yet to make an advance against guerrilla forces in the region.
