Gerîla TV published footage of the action carried out by guerrillas against the Turkish army's base in Bamernê, in the Metîna region of guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq).

The HPG Press Contact Center  statement detailing the action said, "On 16 August at 6.15pm, the Turkish army's military base in Bamernê, Metîna was hit by our forces."

According to the statement, mobile guerrilla teams with heavy weapons targeted a digger that was working on a post. The digger was destroyed and two soldiers were killed."
