Gerîla TV releases footage of action that killed eight Turkish soldiers

Footage of action by guerrillas who targeted Turkish soldiers in the countryside of Hakkari province in North Kurdistan in August 2020.

Gerîla TV released footage of a sabotage action that targeted an ambush-protected military vehicle (BMC Kirpi) of the Turkish army, leaving eight Turkish soldiers dead last year.

The Press Centre of the People’s Defense Forces (HPG) released the following statement detailing the action:

“As part of the Bazên Zagrosê Revolutionary Campaign in the Gever region,

On August 6, at 10:30, two Turkish military vehicles on the move from Şemdinli district towards the Gemanê outpost were put under surveillance by our forces. A BMC Kirpi military vehicle was targeted and hit with sabotage tactics, leaving eight Turkish soldiers dead.

This action was carried out to salute the 15 August Initiative.”
