Guerrillas celebrate Newroz in Gare
In February, the Turkish army suffered a heavy defeat in the invasion of the Gare region of southern Kurdistan, where the guerrillas lit a Newroz fire at the foothills of the mountains last night.
The guerrillas celebrated Newroz in Gare last night with a fire and joyful shots. The Turkish army had attempted to capture the guerrilla area in southern Kurdistan on February 10 with dozens of fighter jets, but failed due to the resistance of the HPG and YJA-Star guerrilla forces and had to retreat.
The Newroz fire was widely visible in populated areas in the surrounding region. The guerrillas greeted the population with fireworks and danced around the fire throughout the night.
