Guerrillas strike Turkish attack helicopter in Zap

The guerrillas hit a Turkish attack helicopter in the Zap region and forced it to turn back. A bombardment against the Tîpa T area was thus prevented.

The Press Office of People’s Defense Forces (HPG) released a statement providing information about the latest attacks by the Turkish army and actions by guerrillas in the guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in South Kurdistan (North Iraq).

According to the statement released on Friday, guerrillas targeted a Turkish attack helicopter, preventing bombardments of the region. The aircraft was on an attack flight against the Tîpa T area last night and was forced to turn back as a result of the strike.

On November 3 and 4, the Şehîd Cudî and the Çemço areas in ​​ Zap region were bombed with howitzers and mortars fired from the Turkish military outposts on the border.

On November 4, the Girê Şehîd Sîmko and Karker areas in the Zap region were bombed by Turkish fighter jets and attack helicopters.

On November 4, the Turkish army bombed the Werxelê area in Avaşîn with heavy weapons. On the same day at night, Turkish helicopters were active over the Tabûra Ereba, Banîsta and Mervanos areas.

On November 4, the Girê Şehîd Şerîf and Sinînê areas in Xakurkê were bombed by Turkish fighter jets.”
