The Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) has achieved great success since its establishment. Many heroes sacrificed their lives and very heavy prices were paid. Today, there is still great resistance against the attacks of the Turkish state in the mountains of Kurdistan.

HPG guerrilla Egîd Serhildan, Êrîş Koçer and YJA Star guerrilla Gerîlla Şoreş spoke to ANF on the 45th anniversary of the PKK.

Celebrating the 45th anniversary of the PKK, HPG guerrilla Egîd Serhildan said: "The PKK started with a small group of people, but later it reached millions. Many achievements were made, especially the establishment of the women's army. All this happened thanks to the efforts of Leader Apo [Abdullah Öcalan] and the martyrs. Today, Leader Apo's ideas and philosophy have spread all over the world. With the establishment of the PKK, the Kurdish people were given a hope. Leader Apo said that we will continue our struggle until this people is liberated. After the struggle grew so much, the enemy captured our Leader. That's why Leader Apo is under severe isolation today. Our goal is to ensure the freedom of the Kurdish people and Leader Apo."

Saying that the establishment of the PKK has a great meaning for the Kurdish people, Şoreş from YJA Star said, "Our party has become the party of the resurrection of the Kurdish people. The PKK ceased to be a small group and created thousands of heroes such as Zilan and Egîd. The PKK has reached this point with the efforts of Leader Apo and the martyrs. We believe that it will grow even further and rise even further. Currently the war continues in the Medya Defense Zones. The resistance displayed by the guerrilla in this war will lead us to victory. As YJA Star guerrillas, we will continue our struggle at the highest level. Our heroic martyr comrades became the symbol of our line of resistance with their struggle. We will fulfill all our responsibilities until we achieve victory."

Stating that PKK was founded in difficult conditions, HPG guerrilla Êrîş Koçer said: "The PKK was founded with the great efforts of Leader Apo and his comrades. The PKK, which was founded amidst impossibilities, has today reached thousands of militants and millions of sympathizers. The PKK, which achieved great success despite difficult conditions, became a hope for all peoples, especially the Kurdish people. We will follow in the footsteps of Leader Apo and our martyrs, and will continue our struggle until the end. Our comrades are putting up great resistance in the war tunnels against the attacks of the Turkish state in Medya Defense Zones. This resistance of the Kurdistan freedom guerrilla will be victorious. We will protect the legacy of resistance left to us by our martyrs and ensure Leader Apo's physical freedom."
