HDP delegation headed by co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş continues their talks in Southern Kurdistan. The delegation visited PUK Secretary General Jalal Talabani, Kurdistan Free Society Movement (Tevgera Azadi) and PUK Politburo yesterday.

The delegation of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) was welcomed at PUK (Patriotic Union of Kurdistan) Politburo by a delegation led by Mele Bahtiyar. HDP and PUK delegations held a joint press conference after the meeting.

Speaking here, PUK Politburo official Mele Bahtiyar put emphasis on the importance of such a visit from Bakur (Northern) Kurdistan and stated the following: “As PUK we have always supported the activities in Bakur Kurdistan. Within this scope, our activities and dialogue still continue. Bashur (Southern) Kurdistan is facing with many problems and efforts are being made to come up with a solution to these. We consider HDP's participation in these efforts a quite positive development.”

Speaking after, HDP co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş stated the followings: "No doubt PUK has always followed and supported the activities in Bakur Kurdistan. We are aware of this and extend our thanks to them hereby once again. PUK is a party known to be running activities serving the Kurdish people. During our meeting with PUK, we have handled the talks we had with other political parties in Bashur Kurdistan."

Tevgera Azadi co-chair Şilan Şakir and Demirtaş also held a press conference after their meeting yesterday and both laid emphasis on the importance of establishment of dialogue among political structures in four parts of Kurdistan.

Şakir pointed out that the HDP delegation's visit is of great importance in this historic process the Kurds are being through and which is witnessing problems in Southern Kurdistan.

Şakir said: "HDP has submitted us a declaration for the resolution of the problems among Kurds. We will continue making efforts to this end. As Tevgera Azadi we believe the legitimate cause of the Kurdish people will achieve victory only through a national congress. We have exchanged views on the need to base on national interests and lay party interests aside for the realization of this goal. We will never hesitate to fulfill our national duties in order for the legitimate cause of the Kurdish people to achieve victory in four parts of Kurdistan."

HDP delegation will visit Goran Movement and Kurdistan Regional Parliament President Dr. Mihemed Yusuf in Sulaymaniyah today.
