HDP: Erdoğan-AKP rule will not be able to confiscate people’s will

HDP stated that Erdoğan-AKP rule continues to breach people’s will with sense of vengeance, and that this hostile approach towards political will of Kurdish people aims at dissolving democratic politics and democratic opposition.

HDP released a statement condemning the “deeply arbitrary and unlawful” detainment of Amed co-mayors Ms. Gültan Kışanak and Mr. Fırat Anlı last night, and raiding their houses as well as the municipality building.

HDP stated that Erdoğan-AKP rule continues to breach people’s will with sense of vengeance, and that this hostile approach towards political will of Kurdish people aims at dissolving democratic politics and democratic opposition.

"Detainment of Gültan Kışanak and Fırat Anlı is the phase of madness pertaining to the war declared against democratic politics.

These unlawful and arbitrary detentions are against human rights, democratic maxims of law as well as international democratic conventions and accords undersigned by Turkey.

The tyranny, oppression and unlawfulness created by Erdoğan-AKP government can never be approved. Erdoğan-AKP rule is responsible for this historic mistake and the climate of chaos created."

HDP urged an immediate end to these arbitrary and unlawful detentions, and immediate release of Co-mayors of Amed who were detained with ungrounded and fabricated charges.

HDP called upon all NGOs, political parties, forces of peace and democracy, international organisations and parliaments to not stay silent against this unlawfulness and express their reactions, and to not concede this extraordinary period of unlawfulness and its practices in Turkey.
