The March 31st local elections are approaching and the HDP is presenting its candidates in the various municipalities. Today meetings were organised in the region of Van.

Ipekyolu
HDP Ipekyolu District Organization opened two election offices in the neighborhoods of Süphan and Cevdet Pasha as part of the election activities.
HDP co-chair candidates for Ipekyolu will be Öznur Bartın, Bahattin Karaman, while Municipal co-mayors candidates will be Şehzade Kurt and Azim Yacan. The candidates were presented to people.
Speaking at the election office opening ceremonies, Ipekyolu municipality co-mayor Shehzade Kurt, said that the Kurdish people have been going through a very difficult process.
Kurt noted that despite the obstacles and difficulties, people were defending the party. She saluted HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Güven who is on her 102nd day of hunger strike demanding the end to isolation against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.
Kurt said the people will send back to Ankara the State-appointed trustees on 31 March.
Saray
Saray Municipal co-mayor candidate Caziye Duman joined the women's meeting in Saray.
Duman emphasized that women were specifically targeted by the AKP-MHP alliance and that the 31 March elections will provide an opportunity to send the trustees back to Ankara.
Çaldıran
HDP Çaldıran Municipal co-mayor candidates Leyla Atsak and Faruk Demir met the people and listened to their problems and questions.
