Under very strict siege by Turkish police, 10 HDP MPs including party spokesperson Osman Baydemir and deputy general president Ahmet Yildirim continued “Resistance Vigil” on its second day in Amed.

The MPs urge Turkish government to stop oppressive politics and take steps towards democratization.

On its second day Turkish police barred HDP supporters from visiting the MPs. Police also did not give permission to HDP local executives enter the park where the vigil is taking place.

Turkish police also didn’t let people to even serve tea to the MPs in vigil.

'VIGIL AIMS TO EXPOSE AKP’S FASCIST MENTALITY'

An envoy including Democratic Regions’ Party co leader Mehmet Arslan visited the MPs and made a press statement afterwards.

“The vigil is important because it aims to expose that Justice and Development Party (AKP) is governing the country with a fascist mentality. This vigil should be everywhere and everyone who is in favour of democracy and peace, should support this vigil” he said.

Arslan pointed out the police violence against vigil supporters and MPs and said “Neither the Kurdish people nor their friends will give a chance for fascist practices of AKP. Although they are trying to break the will of the people, our people will defeat them.”

The vigil will continue tomorrow.
