Turkish state forces have started an aggression on Yeni neighborhood of Şırnak province Thursday noon, to which Civilian Defense Units YPS and YPS-Jin and residents are responding with self-defense.

The neighborhood is being targeted by both intense tear gas and heavy arms as clashes between YPS/YPS-Jin and state forces in the neighborhood are going on.

Şırnak city centre was shaken by 4 huge blasts at various locations 10 minutes in a row last night, which was also followed by clashes in some areas.

Following a power cut in Yeni and Bahçelievler neighborhoods, state forces attacked the areas of self-rule with heavy arms. Civilian Defense Units responded the attacks harshly, which eventually forced Turkish units to retreat.

Fighting continues in Yeni neighborhood where two electric transformers have exploded, leaving the area in smoke.
