Heavy clashes in Sur on the 65th day of the onslaught

While the popular resistance for self-rule endures the increasingly ongoing attacks, the curfew ongoing in 6 neighborhoods since 2 December was expanded across the entire district yesterday. The curfew was later lifted in 9 neighborhoods.
While the areas outside the curfew zone are also witnessing practices of a siege, police forces are holding the entry-exit points of the district and performing ID check on every single person passing by the area.
Amid huge blasts and armed confrontation since early this morning, snipers have opened heavy fire on civilian areas on Melikahmet Street which remains outside the curfew area.
The attack has luckily left no casualties.
