HPG (People's Defense Forces) Press Office released a statement providing information about the recent action carried out by guerrillas of the HPG and YJA-Star (Free Women's Troops).

EIGHT SOLDIERS KILLED IN DOĞUBEYAZIT

HPG reported that the Turkish army initiated an operation in the Glidağ area of the Dogubeyazit district of Ağrı in the morning of March 14, and this operation was extended to the villages of Qulê, Inegê, Mışka, Xalhesen and the Kırê Halacê area. The Turkish army has also airdropped soldiers with Sikorsky helicopters on the Kire Inegê and Kırê Demirkapi areas.

According to the statement, guerrillas carried out an ambush action against the operation forces as they retreated at 5 pm the same day.

Eight of the soldiers who were shot in an effective manner were killed while two soldiers were wounded as result of the action which was carried out as a revenge action against the massacre in the village of Xerabê Bava (Kuruköy) and in memory of fallen guerrillas who were martyred in Garzan.

TWO SOLDIERS KILLED IN ÇUKURCA

HPG statement continued, reporting that between 15.00 and 18.30 hours on March 14, two Sikorsky-type helicopters of the the Turkish army supported by Cobra-type helicopters airdropped soldiers on the Havan hill located at the border of Çukurca district in Hakkari. Guerrillas hit the soldiers as they were airdropped into the area, which left one of them dead.

During the same hours, guerrillas carried out a sabotage action against the soldiers conducting surveillance activities on the hill, as result of which one soldier was killed.

TARGETED ACTIONS IN YÜKSEKOVA

At 13:00 on March 13, guerrillas carried out targeted actions against the soldiers positioned on the Elişêr hill in Hakkari's Yüksekova (Gever) district. Two soldiers were killed in these actions.

TWO GUERRILLAS MARTYRED

HPG announced the martyrdom of two guerrillas with whom contact had been lost during clashes with Turkish army border units, gangs and counter forces that attempted to carry out an operation on the border of the Haftanin area of Medya Defense Zones on March 10, to which guerrillas had responded instantly.
