HPG: 14 occupiers killed, two positions and a camera destroyed

In the Medya Defense Zones, 14 soldiers of the Turkish invading forces were killed on Monday, while the guerrillas destroyed two positions and a surveillance camera.

The press centre of the People's Defense Forces (HPG) released a statement providing the latest information about the war in the guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones: "Our mobile units continue to deal heavy blows to the Turkish occupation forces. As a result of the actions carried out by our forces with Apoist militancy, 14 occupants have been punished, two positions and a camera surveillance system have been destroyed, a helicopter has been hit. The occupation army of the Republic of Turkey has bombed the fighting positions in the resistance areas ten times with chemical weapons and explosives, five times with fighter jets, twenty times with attack helicopters and dozens of times with howitzers and tanks."

Regarding the guerrilla actions on 18 July, the HPG gave the following details:

Xakurke

Mobile units of the YJA Star targeted the Turkish occupation forces at Girê Şehîd Şahan from two flanks. During the action, two enemy positions were destroyed with heavy weapons and six soldiers were killed. A surveillance camera was also destroyed by targeted shelling.

Girê Amêdî

Two soldiers were killed in an action of sabotage while trying to blow up a guerrilla tunnel. Two other soldiers were shot dead by YJA Star snipers.

Girê Hekarî

On Monday morning, two soldiers were shot by snipers, and in the evening the guerrillas intervened against an airdropping operation. The helicopter and the dismounted troops came under fire and two soldiers were killed. The helicopter was badly hit and had to leave the area.
