At least 16 soldiers of the Turkish army were killed in the most recent actions by HPG/YJA Star guerrillas in North Kurdistan.

HPG Press Office released a statement providing details regarding the ongoing actions by guerrillas in response to the genocidal attacks and aggravated isolation of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

HAKKARİ

In the afternoon on August 24 and 25th, guerrillas hit the Turkish military units deployed in Martry Hozan Hill area in Hakkari's Yüksekova district, which left two soldiers dead.

Cobra type helicopters supported by UAVs launched an operation in Talê, Derava Talê and Pagê villages in Hakkari at 22:00 on August 24. While Turkish military shelled the operation area with howitzer and mortar fire in addition to helicopters, as many as 30 armored vehicles entered the Talê village on August 25. The operation continues.

At 12:00 on August 25, guerrillas hit the soldiers deployed around Martyr Rahime Hill in Oremar area of Hakkari's Yüksekova district. While the number of dead and wounded soldiers couldn't be verified, Turkish troops at Oremar outpost shelled Martyr Diren Hill with heavy weaponry in the wake of the action.

MARDİN

On August 25, guerrillas performed check on the road leading to the Ilısu Dam near the Deywanê village in between Mardin's Dargeçiçt and Midyat districts. A vehicle transporting supplies to the dam did not stop and tried to escape, upon which it was hit and damaged by guerrillas.

ŞIRNAK

At 19:30 on August 25, guerrillas performed check on the road between Germav and Karçanê villages in Şırnak's Beytüşşebap district. Two people working with the AKP and state were detained.

AĞRI

On August 19, Turkish army started an operation in Sinega area of Ağrı province where a heavy clash erupted between guerrillas and soldiers at 15:00 in the afternoon, and lasted till 15:00 on August 20. More than 10 soldiers were killed in the fighting and 4 guerrillas were martyred.

On August 23, a group of guerrillas retreating from operation area was engaged in another clash, during which one guerrilla fell fighting. Details of the martyred guerrillas will be announced later on.

DERSİM

At 19:00 on August 24, guerrillas hit a group of soldiers that assembled in front of the Bilgeç outpost in Dersim's Ovacık district. 4 soldiers were killed and 3 others were wounded in the action which was dedicated to MLKP militants martyred in Ovacık.

Recalling that Turkish army had started an operation in Bezik area of Ovacık on August 23, HPG said six guerrillas lost their lives as a result of the bombardments conducted by Turkish jets and helicopters in this territory.

MAKHMUR

HPG continued, sharing details regarding the attack attempt of ISIS gangs targeting the Martyr Rüstem Camp in Mosul's Makhmur town, 60 km to Hewler, at 06:00 this morning.

Accordingly, two ISIS suicide bombers attempted to infiltrate into the camp from its southern side, and both were noticed and hit by guerrillas and self-defense units. One of the ISIS members was killed in the short clash while the other blew himself up before reaching any target. One guerrilla and camp resident Mehmet Arif lost their lives during the fighting.
