HPG Press Office released a written statement providing detailed information regarding the most recent actions conducted by HPG/YJA Star guerrillas in North Kurdistan, and ongoing operations and attacks of Turkish army in North and South Kurdistan.

YÜKSEKOVA

According to the statement, guerrillas hit the Dılezê outpost in Hakkari's Yüksekova district at 10:15 on October 6. Two emplacements in the outpost were destroyed, while 4 soldiers were killed and 3 others were wounded as a result of the action. Troops in the outpost shelled the surroundings with heavy weapons in the wake of the action, which caused a local residing in the village to get wounded.

ÇUKURCA

HPG continued, reporting intense clashes between guerrillas and Turkish troops on Martyr Colomerg hill in Hakkari's Çukurca district for the past three days.

In the morning of October 6, guerrillas effectively hit an emplacement around the hill where soldiers were stationed. 6 soldiers were killed and one guerrilla was martyred here.

Guerrillas also targeted the Turkish units deployed on the hill, which left three soldiers dead.

On the other hand, guerrillas hit and damaged a Sikorsky helicopter as it was about to airdrop soldiers on the hill, forcing it to retreat without completing the mission.

Turkish army attacked the Havan hill with jets, mortars, howitzers and tanks starting from 00:00 last night. Guerrillas therewith hit the Martyr Colomerg hill where at least 7 soldiers were killed.

During the early morning hours, guerrillas once again targeted the soldiers on Martyr Colomerg hill, which left 4 more soldiers dead.

While clashes between Turkish units and guerrillas continue, Turkish troops are shelling Dola Mêrganış, Kala Mêrganış, Kala Petrot areas and Havan hill with jets, mortars, howitzers and tanks.

HPG concluded that a total of 20 soldiers were killed and many others were wounded in this region.

At 09:20 this morning, guerrillas conducted a targeted action against the Êriş outpost in Çukurca, which left one soldier dead.

Guerrillas on the other hand shot the soldiers that bombarded the Ertuş area with heavy weaponry from the Êriş outpost at between 12.00 - 14.00 on October 6. The bombardment was suspended following the action.

ADIYAMAN

Guerrillas destroyed a base station in a sabotage action in Balyan town of Adıyaman province at 19:00 on October 5.

The military operation launched by Turkish troops in Kawi area of Adıyaman on October 4 was retreated without yielding any results one day later.

VAN

Turkish military started an operation in Aşkita, Karaxpula and İngani areas of Van's Başkale district on October 6.

AMED

The operation launched by Turkish army in between Dicle and Hani districts of Amed on October 1 was retreated without yielding any results on October 5.

GUERRILLA ZONES

Turkish jets bombed the following locations in guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in South Kurdistan territory on October 6;

- Hiva, Martyr Munzur, Martyr Serxwebun and Savaş hills in Qandil at between 19:30 – 22:30,

- Surroundings of Golka village in Metina area at between 19.00 – 19.20.

The bombardment caused a damage on the fields and orchards in Golka village.

4 GUERRILLAS MARTYRED

HPG reported that guerrillas Azad, Cesur and Rüstem were martyred in Medya Defense Zones between 25-30 September, while another guerrilla Sipan fell a martyr during a clash with Turkish soldiers in Kela Memê area on August 30.
