HPG Press Office reported in a written statement that guerrillas retaliated against the operation Turkish military started in Siirt on September 20 with a revolutionary counter operation.

According to HPG Press Office, Turkish army launched an operation in Garısa area in Siirt's Eruh district with the support of Cobra helicopters at 03:45 on September 20. The operation was later expanded to the hamlets of Eruh and Beşa and the areas of Dırıjkê, Ebubekiran, Martyr Cudi and Martyr Koçer. Village guards and counter guerrilla units from Batman region were also involved in the operation.

Guerrillas retaliated against the Turkish military operation by launching a revolutionary counter operation in memory of the fallen guerrillas.

At 08:00 on September 20, guerrillas hit a military unit controlling the Martyr Koçer hill, which left 1 soldier dead and 2 others wounded. During the evening hours, guerrillas raided the position of another military unit in the same area, leaving 4 soldiers dead and 2 others wounded.

At 11:30 on September 21, one soldier was killed in a targeted action by YJA-Star guerrillas who later hit the soldiers stationed on Dırıjkê hill at 14:30. 5 soldiers were killed and many others were wounded in the action.

At 15:30, Martyr Rozerin team targeted the soldiers heading to Martyr Cudi hill with a sabotage action, as a result of which 4 soldiers were killed.

On September 21, guerrillas from Martyr Azad team infiltrated into the area of soldiers deployed on Dırıjkê hill and hit them, leaving 4 soldiers dead and many others wounded.

At 09:00 on September 22, Martyr Rozerin team carried out a sabotage action targeting 10 soldiers who had gathered on Ebubekiran hill. 6 soldiers were killed and 4 others were wounded as a result of the action.

One other soldier was killed as another guerrilla unit hit a military unit at 08:30 the same day.

HPG concluded that a total of 26 soldiers were killed and 8 others were wounded in the revolutionary counter operation of guerrillas.

The statement by HPG Press Office also reported that the strikes by Cobra helicopters that shelled the operation zone 8 times started a fire in the targeted area.

HPG added that communication has been lost with two guerrillas partaking in the revolutionary operation.
