HPG: 4 soldiers killed in Hakkari

HPG/YJA Star guerrillas carried out actions in Şemzinan and Çele, as result of which 4 Turkish soldiers were killed and an emplacement of Turkish forces was destroyed.

HPG (People's Defense Forces) Press Office released a statement reporting actions by guerrillas in the countryside of Hakkari province in North Kurdistan.

Accordingly, guerrillas hit the soldiers at Çemêkurkê barracks in Hakkari's Şemzinan (Şemdinli) district at 18:10 on March 15. While the number of soldiers killed or wounded here couldn't be clarified, Turkish forces bombed the surrounding territory and Kanireşê area with howitzer and mortar fire in the wake of the action.

Another action by guerrillas targeted the soldiers stationed on Hill Havan on the border of Hakkari's Çelê (Çukurca) district at 12:00 on March 15.

One emplacement of the Turkish forces here was destroyed and 4 soldiers in the emplacement were killed as result of the action, after which the casualties were retrieved from the scene with Sikorsky helicopters and the areas of Merganış and Şifreza were shelled with howitzer and mortar fire by the Turkish army.
