HPG (People's Defense Forces) Press Office released a statement reported ongoing attacks by the Turkish military and an action by guerrillas.

According to the statement, HPG guerrillas conducted an action in Mardin's Kızıltepe district in retaliation to the massacre of Kurdish people in Cizre and other Kurdish towns. The sabotage action by guerrillas targeted an armored vehicle carrying special operation teams in Mezopotamya neighborhood of Kızıltepe at 01:30 of 14 February night. At least 5 special operation police were killed in the action after which the wreck of the vehicle was removed from the scene.

HPG refuted the Turkish media which reported the incident as detonation by police of explosives they had detected, saying that these distorted news were aimed to hide the truth.

The statement by HPG continued by providing details regarding the artillery strikes conducted by Turkish military against guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in South Kurdistan territory yesterday. Accordingly;

Troops at Hill Sor, Kanî Masî and Deştanê outposts located near the border of Metina shelled surrounding areas between 12.00 – 15.00.

Aruş guard post hit Martyr Dilber area with mortar and artillery fire between 16.30 – 17.00.

Eriş outpost in the border area of Hakkari's Çukurca district shelled Hill Xeregol and foothills between 07.00 – 07.30.

Hill Ortê and Şkêr outposts shelled surrounding areas between 15.30 – 16.30.

Turkish troops deployed around Hill Martyr Zerdeşt at the border of Hakkari's Yüksekova district shelled surrounding areas with howitzer, mortar and artillery fire between 20.30 – 21.30.

The statement by HPG Press Office also provided details regarding the reconnaissance activity carried out by Turkish aircraft over the following guerrilla zones;

- Xakurke and Avashin areas between 18.00 – 21.00,

- Gundê Filleha area of Zap region between 18.00 – 23.00,

- Metina area between 10.00 – 17.00,

- Zap region between 07.00 yesterday morning and 03.00 tonight.

Activity of Turkish warplanes was also observed over Heftanin area between 18.00 – 18.30 yesterday.
