The Press Office of People’s Defense Forces (HPG) released a statement announcing the details of the latest actions carried out by guerrillas against the Turkish army in Kurdistan territory and the continued attacks of the Turkish military.

According to the statement, the guerrilla actions were carried out in the scope of the ‘Martyr Bager and Martyr Ronya Revolutionary Campaign’.

ÇARÇELLA

In the area of Çarçella in Zagros region, a high-ranking soldier of the Turkish army was killed by a guerrilla sniper on the hill of the Bezeno village at 07:15 on July 20.

ÇUKURCA

Women’s United Revolutionary Movement (KBDH) units struck Turkish soldiers stationed on Hill Şehid Alişer in Hakkari’s Çukurca district at 11:20 on July 20. The action was carried out in response to the Turkish occupation operation ongoing in Heftanin region of Southern Kurdistan (Northern Iraq).  Six soldiers were killed and one other wounded by effective strikes.

AMED

At the night of July 20, the Turkish army bombed the Gorse area in Amed (Diyarbakır) countryside with attack helicopters. The fire started by the bombardment continues to rage.

HEREKOL

At 14:30 on July 19, the Turkish army launched an operation in the area of Şehid Canxurt in Siirt’s Herekol region. After bombing the operation area till the morning hours, the Turkish army airdropped soldiers with Sikorsky helicopters. A guerrilla by the name of Şiyar Garzan fell putting up a brave fight against the Turkish troops. The operation was discontinued at noon on July 20.
