HPG: 9 soldiers killed during Turkish army operation

HPG Media Center announced that 9 soldiers were killed during a Turkish army operation in Hakkari’s Şemzinan district.

HPG Media Center issued a written statement on recent guerilla actions and Turkish army operations.

HAKKARİ

HPG recalled that the Turkish army lad launched an operation in the Adılbeg region of Hakkari’s Şemzinan district on November 14, and a group of soldiers had positioned themselves in the Şirin valley and Gola region of Şemzinan. Guerillas carried out an action against the soldiers at Şirin valley around 10:00 on November 15, and 6 soldiers were killed and 1 soldier was injured during the clashes that lasted 2 hours here. One guerilla fell as martyr during the clashes, after which soldiers retreated from the region.

Guerillas carried out an action with heavy weaponry against the soldiers attempting to infiltrate into Gola region between 15:00 and 16:00 on November 15, and the numbers of dead and injured soldiers have not yet been clarified. The Turkish army was forced to retreat from the area, and tried to infiltrate into the region again at 23:00. 3 soldiers were killed during the clashes that took place between the soldiers and the guerillas, and the army retreated again from the region.

Clashes also broke out between guerillas and the soldiers that attempted to infiltrate into Xwedê region in Adılbeg on November 15, and more information on these clashes will soon be shared with the public.

HPG guerillas carried out an artillery action against the soldiers at Elişêr hill in Hakkari’s Yüksekova district at 10:00 on November 15, and the numbers of dead and injured soldiers have not yet been clarified.

ŞIRNAK

HPG announced that Turkish soldiers have been laying ambushes between the İkizce and Avkamasiya villages of Şırnak and forcing shepherds to be spies for the state recently. HPG called upon the region’s residents to be sensitive against such efforts, and reminded that those that work as spies for the Turkish state would be punished.

AMED

HPG announced that the Turkish soldiers that launched an operation in the Apê Musa region of Amed’s Lice district on November 13 withdrew from the area without yielding any results on November 15.

BİNGÖL

HPG stated that the Turkish army deployed soldiers at the Qir Boğazı, Martyr Ozan, Martyr Bahoz and İsmail hill areas of Bingöl’s Yayladere region at 00:00 on November 13, and entered Qir valley on November 14. The soldiers set the area on fire and retreated from the region around 21:00 on November 15.

MARDİN

Lastly, HPG stated that guerillas burnt a vehicle belonging to Dargeçit Beton firm that collaborates with the occupant Turkish army and carries cement to military bases at 16:00 on November 15. The driver of the vehicle was released after receiving a warning from the guerillas.
