HPG Media Center issued a written statement on guerilla actions and Turkish army operations.

HAKKARİ

HPG stated that the Turkish army launched an operation around the village of Garê in Hakkari’s Şemzinan district at 12:00 on October 1. The operation expanded towards the villages of Gelavê and Gelişim and the soldiers carried out raids in Garê village. The Turkish army’s operation continues.

Guerillas carried out a shelling action against the soldiers at Martyr Cahit hill in Hakkari’s Çukurca district at 15:30 on October 1. At least 1 soldier was killed, many others were injured, and several tents were destroyed during the action. The Turkish army retrieved its casualties with Skorsky helicopters after the action.

HPG announced that guerillas carried out an action against 3 armored vehicles in the Cumhuriyet neighborhood of Hakkari’s Gever district at 20:30 on October 1. One Kobra armored vehicle was destroyed and 5 soldiers were killed during the action, which was organized in retaliation to the operation in Mêrgezerê.

MARDİN

HPG Media Center recalled that Turkish soldiers and village guards launched an operation around the Ewêna, Bakustan and Bernışt villages of Mardin’s Savur district on September 27, and the clashes that broke out the next morning lasted between 06:30 and 08:30. The numbers of dead and injured soldiers have not yet been clarified. Kobra helicopters randomly bombarded the area after the clashes, and 4 soldiers were killed and 2 soldiers were injured during the clashes here. 5 guerillas fell as martyrs after putting up a heroic resistance, and the ID information of the deceased guerillas will soon be publicized.

HPG added that soldiers lay ambushes in Mardin’s Dargeçit district.

ŞIRNAK

HPG stated that the Turkish army continues its operation in the Faraşin region of Şırnak’s Beytüşşebap district, and guerillas carried out an infiltration action against these soldiers at 20:00 on October 1. At least 5 soldiers were killed and one position was destroyed during the action, after which soldiers abandoned the region.

The Turkish army is reported to have been making military shipments from Cizre airport to nearby outposts since September 30.

SİİRT

Guerillas carried out a sabotage action against the soldiers at a moving Ejder armored vehicle near the Beykent village of Siirt’s Kurtalan district at 16:30 on September 28. The numbers of dead and injured soldiers have not yet been clarified.

AMED

Lastly, HPG Media Center announced that the Turkish army launched an operation in the Apê Musa and Martyr Rojhat areas of Amed’s Lice and Hani districts after the declaration of curfews in 13 villages in these areas at 05:00 on October 1. Soldiers have surrounded many villages, carry out recognaissance flights in the area, and have closed down the Amed-Çewlık road.
