HPG: At least 30 soldiers killed in Çukurca and Yüksekova
HPG reported that at least 26 soldiers were killed in clashes in Hakkari's Çukurca district, and 4 others in an action by guerrillas in Yüksekova area.

HPG Press Office released a written statement regarding the ongoing Turkish military operation and clashes in Çukurca and Yüksekova districts of Hakkari province.
According to the statement, guerrillas carried out an action targeting the Turkish army soldiers deployed around Martyr Hozan Hill in Yüksekova at 15:00 on September 2nd. The action with mortars and heavy weapons left 4 soldiers dead.
HPG said clashes continue in the areas of Ertuş Castle, Martyr Cihat and Martyr Neval hills in Çukurca.
At 05:30 on September 2nd, guerrillas hit the soldiers in the areas of both hills, as a result of which 6 soldiers were killed and 3 guerrillas fell fighting. Guerrillas continued hitting the soldiers on Martyr Neval hill till the evening hours.
In the wake of the action, soldiers moved towards the Ertuş Castle where clashes continued till the evening hours. 20 soldiers were killed during the fighting in this area.
During the evening hours, Turkish fighter jets and helicopters shelled Martyr Colomerg, Martyr Cahit, Martyr Neval and Havan hills, Small Garê area and Ertuş Castle. The Turkish troops were forced to retreat from Ertuş Castle as a result of effective strikes by guerrillas.
Simultaneously, clashes between guerrillas and soldiers that also attacked Martyr Cihat Hill continued for two hours. Guerrillas seized military munitions of the Turkish units and bodies of soldiers remained under the control of guerrillas. Clashes continue in this area which is targeted by ongoing bombardments by Turkish forces with fighters jets and Cobra helicopters.
HPG added that guerrillas destroyed three base stations of Turkcell- Vodafone- Avea mobile operators, and two internet lines near Nızra, Çırkanıs and Şavıte villages of Hakkari at 01:00 on September 3rd.
