HPG (People's Defense Forces) guerrillas say that April 4 is the day the Kurdish people were born that they consider April 4 to be the birth of a people, an idea and an ideology.

“WE CONSIDER IT THE BIRTH OF A PEOPLE, AN IDEA AND AN IDEOLOGY”

HPG guerrilla Mordem Baz: We can’t think of the birth of the Leader as an ordinary birth. We consider April 4 to be the birth of a people, an idea and an ideology. Leader Apo’s philosophy and ideology is the philosophy and ideology of a people’s emancipation. The Leader may be captive physically in İmralı, but nobody in history has ever been like and as free as him in their mindset. As our Leader says, his imprisonment is not the imprisonment of an individual, but the imprisonment of a whole people in his person. We as the militants of Leader Apo will continue our struggle until the end and until victory. We will defeat the enemy in these lands. We will ensure the physical freedom of our Leader and we will prevail in the struggle we wage for the freedom of our people.

“FOR US LEADER APO IS THE TRUTH”

HPG guerrilla Rezan: Leader Apo’s birth is the birth of the Kurdish people. For us Leader Apo is the truth, he is the reality. We insist on this life, and thus we continue our struggle for it. We will continue to fight until we drive the enemy out of these lands. We as the guerrilla are ready for this war. The enemy should know that a life without the Leader is sin for us. We will make the enemy pay for every moment we spend without the Leader, we won’t let them rest easy. Because for us Leader Apo is life, is the truth, he is everything to us. The colonialist Turkish state should know that Leader Apo nurtured these mountains with his truth and reality, and with this power the guerrilla will never stop, the guerrilla will continue to fight until the last drop of their blood. For us, a life without the Leader is a life without honor, and we don’t accept this life. Our people should vote “No” in the referendum, for the freedom of our Leader. Because if they don’t, the state will subject them to even worse pain. We as the HPG guerrilla will always stand by our Leader and our people, we will always fight and defeat the enemy.

“FOR US LEADER APO MEANS AN HONORABLE LIFE”

HPG guerrilla Tirej: April 4 is the birthday for Leader Apo, thus the Kurdish people, and the Middle East. Leader Apo’s birth means the birth of the new life and the new ideology. For us Leader Apo means an honorable life. Leader Apo wanted us to plant trees on April 4. Because trees mean new life, a natural life. So, our people should plant trees everywhere on April 4. For us, April 4 is the new life, it is the rebirth of the Kurdish people. For this reason, all should embrace the Leader. We as the militants of Leader Apo will continue our fight until we liberate our Leader. Our Leader offered us an honorable life and for that, we must protect our Leader. There must be no compromise against the enemy so they can’t impose the isolation upon our Leader. We must push the Turkish colonialism out of these lands, and to manage that, we should march in the footsteps of our Leader. Our people all over Kurdistan, especially in Amara, should celebrate April 4 with great fervor. All should know that we don’t accept life without the Leader. We will do all we can to protect the great effort given y tour Leader.

April 4, the birth day of Leader Apo, is the resurrection and the will of the Kurdish people. On this happy day, we must do what the Leader asked us to do. The Leader asked us to plant trees and saplings. Because April 4 is the day the Kurdish people found life. And thus, our people should use whatever means they have to build the new life. We should celebrate April 4 in this framework. None should stay silent because silence means death.

HPG guerrilla Zamani Garzan: April 4 means a new philosophy, a new ideology and a new life for the Kurdish people. For the guerrilla, it is the day for the creation of the new personality. The struggle waged by our Leader and followed by our people and us is the reality of honor and the truth. The Kurdish people are marching towards freedom under the leadership of Leader Apo. They are emerging as a leader among exploited peoples. It’s the day to raise the 40-year-long struggle. It’s the day to achieve the physical freedom of Leader Apo. In this framework, the Kurdish people, Leader Apo’s guardians and the forces of democracy should wage this struggle for the Leader’s freedom. We all should.
