HPG: Operation in Farqin continues

HPG Media Center announced that the Turkish army’s operation, which had begun on July 14 with the participation of thousands of soldiers and village guards, continues in the Martyr Baran region of Amed’s Farqin district. HPG stated that clashes broke out between guerillas and soldiers near the village of Dêrikê Hemê Reşo at 05:00 on the same day, and communications with a group of guerillas have been cut. Kobra-type helicopters bombarded the area near the villages of Mukurê, Mala Elika, Sultaniye ve Mala Hırmo, and 20 civilians from the region have been arrested during the on-going operation.
HPG stated that guerillas carried out a sabotage action against the soldiers at a Kirpi-type armored vehicle near the village of Bıyadırê in Hakkari’s Çukurca district at 14:15 on July 15. The numbers of dead and injured soldiers have not yet been clarified, and the action was dedicated to the civilians recently massacred in front of Çukurca Battalion.
Lastly, HPG said that guerillas carried out an action against the soldiers positioned at Martyr Rahime and Martyr Zerdeşt hills in the Oremar region of Hakkari’s Yüksekova district between 17:00 and 17:30 on July 15, and the numbers of dead and injured soldiers have not yet been clarified.
