The press center of the People's Defense Forces (HPG) paid tribute to guerrilla  Dijwar Tolhildan, who fell as a martyr two years ago in the southern Kurdish region of Gare.

Tolhildan was from Urfa (Riha), and had joined the guerrillas from Europe. The HPG expressed its condolences to his relatives and the Kurdish people and provided the following information about his identity:

 Codename: Dijwar Tolhildan
First and last name: Mustafa Yalçınkaya
 Place of birth: Riha
Names of mother and father: Havva – Kasım
Date and place of death: March 2, 2022 / Gare

Dijwar Tolhildan was born in Urfa (Riha-Xelfetî) and grew up in an environment close to the Kurdish liberation movement. Like many Kurdish children, he experienced when he started school that his native language was forbidden. That was his first confrontation with the monist state system in Turkey.

In order to contribute to his family's livelihood, he took on various jobs as a teenager. With the advent of the Rojava Revolution, his interest in the Kurdish freedom struggle increased, and he became involved in youth movement activities. At the beginning of 2017, he went to Europe and continued his involvement in the Kurdish youth movement. In 2019, he turned his back on the capitalist system and joined the guerrillas in Kurdistan.

In the mountains, Dijwar underwent training for new fighters. Because he was enthusiastic about life and had already gained experience in the youth movement, the change was not difficult for him and he quickly developed into a competent guerrilla fighter. Due to the massive war conditions, he focused on military knowledge and modern battle tactics in addition to his ideological education. As an apoist militant, he was ready to take on any task as required. Among other things, he showed great commitment to the construction of the underground defenses, which still play an important role today.

As he once said, one of his greatest goals was to be a good comrade to Abdullah Öcalan. He constantly read Öcalan's analyzes and dealt with the requirements of a militant personality. When the Turkish invasion attacks on the Medya Defense Areas began in 2021, he repeatedly expressed his desire to go to the war zone and take part in the resistance. This request was rejected due to the importance of his work. The HPG describe Dijwar as a sincere and self-sacrificing person who worked hard for his beliefs and was loved by his comrades.
