People's Defense Forces (HPG) Press Office released a statement reporting ongoing attacks by the Turkish army and actions by guerrillas in response.

According to the statement, guerrillas hit a Turkish tank deployed near Martyr Zinar area at the border to Avashin territory of Medya Defense Zones yesterday afternoon. The tank was severely damaged as a result of the action after which Turkish troops shelled Martyr Gafur area and surroundings with howitzer, mortar and tank fire.

Another action by YJA-Star (Free Women's Troops) guerrillas targeted the Şkêr outpost at the border to Zap region of Medya Defense Zones at 16:00 yesterday afternoon. Guerrillas hit many emplacements but the death toll couldn't be verified. In the wake of the action which was conducted in response to the aggravated isolation on Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan, troops at Şkêr and Girê outposts shelled Latê Kewa, Hill Sor, Çiyayê Reş and Hill Cehennem with howitzer, mortar and tank fire.

Troops at Bilican outpost in the border area of Hakkari's Çukurca district bombed Martyr Newal and Martyr Colomerg areas of Zap region of Medya Defense Zones between 13.30 - 14.00 and 16.30 - 17.00 yesterday afternoon.

HPG also reported reconnaissance activity by Turkish aircraft over;

- Zap region between 9 am yesterday and 7 am this morning

- Garê area between 18.00 - 20.00 yesterday evening.
