HPG reports actions by guerrillas and increasing activity by Turkish army

Ongoing actions by HPG/YJA Star guerrillas left 5 soldiers of the Turkish army dead in Northern Kurdistan.

HPG Press Office released a statement detailing the most recent actions of guerrillas and clashes with Turkish forces.

Accordingly, guerrillas hit a group of soldiers on Konserve hill in Hakkari's Şemzinan (Şemdinli) district with heavy weapons between 13:00 and 14:00 on November 11.

Between 08:30-09:00 and 10:30-11:00 on November 12, guerrillas also hit another group of soldiers in this area with heavy weapons.

The number of soldiers killed or wounded in these actions couldn't be clarified.

In the meantime, Turkish army started an operation in Adılbeg area on the border in Şemdinli. The operation involves Hill Xwedê and the hamlets of Hopê and Dola Zeytê.

At 12:50 on November 12, guerrillas carried out an action targeting the soldiers on Koordine hill in Hakkari's Çukurca district with mortars, which left 1 soldier dead.

At 09:50 on November 15, guerrillas hit a digger involved in road construction around the Martyr Colomerg hill, as a result of which the digger was destroyed and the soldier operating it was killed.

HPG noted that Turkish army has dispatched over a hundred tanks and hundreds of armored vehicles to Çukurca during the past two days.

On the other hand, guerrillas hit the soldiers operating between Hill Şehidan and Kurikê Omerya in Şırnak's Uludere district at 12:30 on November 15. Three soldiers were killed here.

Turkish military launched operations in the countryside of Bingöl's Yayladere district at 12:00 on November 13, and in Şex Cuma area in Bitlis countryside on November 15, today.

HPG reported that the Turkish state is sending agents to the rural areas -mainly in Erzincan and Dersim- who are operating under the cover of hunting and wood-chopping, in order to achieve a desired result with the land operations in the Kurdish territory.

HPG said: "These people to be encountered by our side in rural areas will be considered to be cooperating with the state, they will be treated accordingly and subjected to necessary practices. The people living in the region should also be aware of the situation and be cautious."
