HPG reports continued Turkish attacks in South Kurdistan

The Turkish army is continuing its airstrikes in South Kurdistan with no casualties among the guerrilla forces.

The Press Centre of the People’s Defense Forces (HPG)released a statement providing information concerning the latest Turkish invasion attacks in Kurdistan territory.

The statement released on Friday said,

“On January 5, at 05:00, the occupying Turkish army launched a military operation accompanied by 32 vehicles in the areas of Gundê Kerwas, Gunde Memyat and Gunde Mehle in the Şehid Kendal Region of Amed (Diyarbakir). The occupation forces left the area after deploying their undercover troops there.”

HPG stated that the Turkish army is continuing intense air attacks on the guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq).

Details of the Turkish aggression which continued for 5 days with no casualties among the guerrilla forces are as follows:

“On January 2, at 16:00, the Girê Şehid Şahin area in ​​Zap and the Girê Cûdî area in the Gunde Fileha region were shelled by Turkish fighter jets.

On January 2, between 16:00 and 17:00, the Girê Şehid Şerif and Sinîne areas in the Xakurkê region were shelled by Turkish fighter jets.

On January 3, at 22:15, the Kunîşka and Şehid Rustem areas in the Zap region were shelled by Turkish fighter jets.

On January 4, at 15:10, the Girê Berbizina and Sinîne areas in Xakûrkê's Goşîne area were shelled by Turkish fighter jets.

On January 4, at 15:10, the Barzan area and Çiyayereş areas in the Zap region were shelled by Turkish fighter jets.

On January 4, at 15:00, the Werxelê area in the Avaşîn region was shelled by Turkish fighter jets.”

On January 5, at 18:40 and 20:30, the Sinînê and Goşîne areas in the Xakurkê region were shelled by Turkish fighter jets.

On January 5, the Kunîşka, Çemço and Şikefta Birîndara areas in the Zap region were shelled by Turkish fighter jets.

On January 5, at 18:27, the Deriyê Hirçê area in the Garê region was shelled by Turkish fighter jets.

On January 6, between 16:00 and 16:27, the areas of Kunîşka, Girê Şehid Şahin and Girê Amediyê in the Zap region were shelled by Turkish fighter jets.”
