The Turkish army used prohibited weapons in 25 attacks on guerrilla positions on Tuesday, reported the press centre of the People's Defence Forces (HPG) in its daily overview of the war in Kurdistan. In addition, 80 air strikes were carried out in guerrilla areas, twelve of them by fighter jets and 68 by attack helicopters, as well as dozens of artillery attacks.
The guerrillas continue to resist the invasion of Southern Kurdistan despite the war crimes committed and the technical superiority of the Turkish army. While another military helicopter was shelled, three soldiers were killed and four injured in further guerrilla actions, which the HPG detailed as follows:
GUERRILLA ACTIONS IN ZAP AND METİNA
On 24 October, a Turkish squad advancing in the Saca resistance area was struck by mobile guerrilla units. On 25 October, the guerrillas carried out a sabotage action and an action with heavy weapons against a group of soldiers trying to enter the Şehîd Bahoz position in the Çemço resistance area. One soldier was killed and another injured.
At Girê Cûdî, the guerrillas hit the invading forces three times with heavy weapons on Tuesday. One of the actions prevented blasts at the Şehîd Çekdar position, and the Turkish unit subsequently retreated. Two soldiers were killed and three others injured in an action carried out by guerrillas of the YJA Star (Free Women’s Troops).
At Girê Amêdî, mobile guerrilla units intervened against an airdropping operation. A Sikorsky transport helicopter was hit in the shelling and had to turn around without being able to drop troops.
ATTACKS BY THE TURKISH ARMY
Banned bombs were used four times against guerrilla positions in the Girê Cûdî, Sîda and Saca areas on Tuesday. Eight chemical weapons attacks were also carried out in Sîda. In Çemço, 13 attacks with chemical weapons and pepper gas targeted the Şehîd Bahoz position. At the same time, plastic material and car tires were set on fire in front of the tunnel entrance, and the smoke was directed into the tunnel by a wind machine.
The areas of Mam Hesen, Gundê Bilmendê, Gundê Çemrobotkî, Gundê Şkeftiyan and Gundê Biyê in Gare as well as the Zap shore and Girê Bihar were bombed twelve times by fighter jets. 68 helicopter attacks targeted the areas of Saca, Karker, Kurojahro, Şehîd Fedakar, Girê Hekarî, Girê Cûdî and Girê Amêdî. The areas of Çemço, Girê FM and Girê Cûdî were attacked dozens of times with howitzers, tanks and heavy weapons. Drone activity was observed over Girê Cûdî and Çemço.
