HPG statement about Turkish attacks on Southern Kurdistan

HPG Press Office released a statement about the Turkish military attacks on Bradost region of Southern Kurdistan.

HPG Press and Communications Center announced details of the Turkish military attacks on Bradost region of Southern Kurdistan.

The statement said the following;

“The invading Turkish army launched an invasion operation in Siro and Gümbet areas in the Bradost region within the boundaries of Southern Kurdistan from Hakkari’s Şemzînan (Şemdinli) district on March 11.

Partially retreating from the area on March 14, the Turkish army shelled Siro hillsides and Gelîyê Reş area with howitzer and mortar fire at between 19:30 and 20:30 the same day. Following the bombardment, Turkish jets bombed Siro hillsides, Gelîyê Reş area and foothills of Mount Evdal Kovî. At 22:00 in the evening, the invading forces airdropped soldiers in the region of Hill Siro, Hill Masiro and Hill Partizan and expanded the operation.

At 11:30 on March 15, clashes erupted between our forces and the soldiers of the invading army that attempted to enter Hill Partizan and Masiro Valley. Simultaneously with the clashes, Turkish warplanes bombed the area.”
