HPG: Turkish army continues its attacks against Medya Defense Zones

The invading Turkish state is continuing ground and air attacks against Medya Defense Zones.

The HPG Press Centre released the following information in a statement concerning the latest attacks of the invading Turkish army against the guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq).

In the Werxelê Resistance Area in the Avaşîn region:

On October 17, the Turkish army bombed the Werxelê Resistance Area with explosives.

On October 12, 13 and 17, the Girê Şehîd Qehreman, Geliyê Şehîd Berîtan, Sinînê and Berbizinê areas in the Xakurkê region were bombed by Turkish fighter jets.

On October 13 and 16, the Dola Konferansê and Werxelê areas in the Avaşîn region were bombed by Turkish fighter jets.

On October 16, the Zêvê village in ​​the Zap region and Werxelê area were bombed by Turkish fighter jets.

On October 16, Turkish helicopter activity was observed over the Qaşura line in the Metîna region. On the same day, the vicinity of the Êdinê, Deşîşê, Serarû villages in Amadiya countryside, as well as the Kela Qumriyê and Koordîne areas were bombed by Turkish attack helicopters and howitzers fired from the military guard posts on the border line. The Turkish bombings led to material damage to the fields and gardens of our civilian population.

In the evening hours of October 16 and 17, Turkish helicopters were active over the areas of Mervanos, Tabûra Ereba, Girê Silêman, Girê Sor and Girê Spi in Avaşîn region.

On October 17, Turkish fighter jets bombed Girê Arasîn in the Karox area in ​​the Qandil region.”
