HPG: Turkish army has withdrawn from 3 regions in Zap

The Turkish occupation forces have received heavy blows from the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla and withdrawn from the Girê Şehîd Munzur, Girê Şehîd Serxwebûn and Ciloya Biçûk areas of the Zap region.

HPG Press Centre released a statement about the latest Turkish attacks and guerrilla actions in the guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq).

“As is known, the Turkish army launched a large-scale invasion operation against Medya Defense Zones on April 23. The Turkish occupation forces received heavy blows several times during the 8-month period. In particular, the revolutionary operation carried out by our forces on Hill Martyr Munzur on December 8-9 gave the occupation forces a hard time. Moreover, on December 9, the Turkish troops in the Ciloya Biçûk area of Zap were targeted in an effective action by the guerrillas. The Turkish army received heavy blows during these actions in which we suffered no casualties, and the tactics of the new guerrilla warfare were successfully implemented in a coordinated and intertwined manner. However, Turkish sources disseminated false reports about the ongoing clashes to cover up their military defeat.

The occupying Turkish army has withdrawn from Girê Şehîd Munzur, Girê Şehîd Serxwebûn and Ciloya Biçûk areas in the Zap region. The Turkish army realized that it would receive much greater blows, just like in the Werxelê and Tabura Ereban areas previously.

The occupying Turkish army, which could not get any results from its ground offensives against the guerrilla forces, is trying to get results through intense air strikes against the Medya Defense Zones. However, Turkish air strikes remained inconclusive, and we did not suffer any casualties. The fabricated reports of the Turkish army based on these bombings have no factual basis.
