HPG: Turkish military operation and clashes in Çarçela continue

As the operation the Turkish army launched in Çarçela on March 25 continues, two soldiers were killed as result of actions by guerrillas.

HPG Press Centre issued a statement on the operation of the Turkish army in Çarçela region.

Accordingly, the operation launched by the Turkish army in Çarçela area on the borderline of Hakkari's Gever (Yüksekova) district on March 25 continues.

At 07:30 on March 26, guerrillas carried out a targeted action on soldiers positioned on Bayê hill, which left one soldier wounded.

At 11:30 on March 26, guerrillas hit a Turkish army Sikorsky helicopter that was trying to airdrop soldiers on Bayê hill, and forced the helicopter to retreat without finalizing the mission. Guerrillas hit another Sikorsky helicopter that tried to do the same mission after a while, as result of which two soldiers were killed.

At 14:30 on March 26, soldiers forming emplacements on Bayê hill were hit by guerrillas with heavy and light weaponry. The number of soldiers killed or wounded here couldn't be clarified.

HPG recalled that a guerrilla had fallen martyr during clashes on March 25, adding that another guerrilla that got wounded during clashes has died of his wounds despite all the medical efforts.
