HPG: Two Turkish soldiers killed in Xakurke

People’s Defense Forces (HPG)/Free Women’s Troops (YJA Star) guerrillas carried out actions against the Turkish soldiers in Xakurkê and Metîna.
The HPG Press Centre released a written statement concerning the guerrilla actions and Turkish invasion attacks in the guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq).
The statement published on Monday includes the following:
“As part of the Bazên Revolutionary Campaign in the Xakurke region:
On August 28, at 21:30, our forces struck the Turkish soldiers in Girê Şehîd Şervan in the Lêlîkan area at close range. At least 2 soldiers were killed as a result of the action.
As part of the Cenga Xabur Revolutionary Campaign in the Metîna region:
On August 29, at 18:15, Turkish military positions in Girê Azad were struck by our forces with heavy weapons. The targets were hit accurately.
In the Werxelê Resistance Area in the Avaşîn region:
On August 29, between 12:30 and 04:00, the Turkish army bombed the Werxelê Resistance Area using poisonous gases and explosives. Following the bombings, the Turkish forces seeking to advance in the Werxelê Resistance Area had to retreat as a result of the intervention by the guerrillas.
On 30 August, between 08:30 and 09:20, Turkish forces used poisonous gases in the Werxelê Resistance Area.
Turkish drone and reconnaissance aircraft mobility continues in the Resistance Zones.
On August 29, between 23:30 and 01:30, Turkish helicopters flew over the areas of Girê Sor, Girê Spî, Girê Silêman, Mervanos, Tabûra Ereba in the Avaşîn region. The Girê Şehîd Dîren, Satê, Gûndê Dê and Girê Şehîd Rizgar areas were bombed with heavy weapons from the Turkish outposts on the border line.
On August 29, between 18:30 and 00:00, Turkish helicopter activity took place in the Qaşura line of the Metina region. On the same day, the vicinity of the villages of Êdinê, Deşîşê and Seraro in the Kanî Masî sub-district of the Amadiya district, the Girê Koordîne and Kela Qûmriyê areas were bombed by attack helicopters and howitzers fired from the Turkish military posts on the border line.
On August 29, between 23:30 and 01:00, Turkish helicopter activity was observed in the Tîpa T area of the Zap region. During the same hours, the area was bombed by attack helicopters.”
