HSM: Turkish state murders civilians portraying them as 'PKK members'

HSM pointed out that the Turkish state killed civilians in North Kurdistan and spread the lie “We killed PKK members”, asking;“If AKP's state forces killed 711 PKK members as they claim, where are the bodies of these people?”.

Central Headquarters Command of People's Defense Forces (HSM) has released a statement exposing the lies spread by the AKP state regarding the ongoing onslaught in North Kurdistan.

HSM pointed out that the Turkish state killed civilians in North Kurdistan and spread the lie “We killed PKK members”, asking;“If AKP's state forces killed 711 PKK members as they claim, where are the bodies of these people?”.

The Central Headquarters Command stressed that the AKP state which started an all-out war against the Kurdish people as of 24 July 2015, has engaged in attempts of massacre against the civilian population under the cover of curfews in various towns across North Kurdistan since 16 August.

Pointing to Kurdish people and patriotic youth's response to these attacks as part of self-defense resistance, HSM said both sides suffered losses in the ongoing battle, and both released the figures they have on casualties.

'KILLING OF 711 PKK MEMBERS IS THE TOP OF LIES'

HSM emphasised that Turkish General Staff, however, hid its casualties in its daily statements, counted the civilians murdered defending their cities as PKK members, and greatly exaggerated the numbers as part of the psychological warfare pursued against the public opinion.

Referring to a similar statement released on 23 January which said 711 PKK members were killed in 3 cities, HSM said this figure was the top of lies told by the Turkish side so far.

The statement underlined that; "First and foremost, we as PKK's armed force HPG have no units instructed for urban warfare in cities. Those portrayed as PKK members are therefore not HPG guerrillas, but could be civilians murdered while defending their streets and neighborhoods. The Turkish state is waging a war against civilian population in Cizre, Nusaybin, Sur, Silopi and many other places; murdering children and elderly, and spreading a lie that it has killed PKK members."

'IF 711 PEOPLE WERE KILLED, WHERE ARE THEIR BODIES?'

HSM remarked that; "Other than that, even if this figure is evaluated on the basis of civilians, the number of civilian casualties caused by this process is not 711. According to the recent statements by various NGOs which constitute a major reference in this regard, 259 civilians who include 65 children have been martyred by the AKP state's forces during this most recent process. If AKP's security forces have killed 711 people as they claim, where are the bodies of these people? Why is it being hidden from the public opinion?"

Central Headquarters Command of People's Defense Forces lastly emphasised that the AKP colonialism waged a dirty war against civilian population in Kurdistan under the name of “fight against PKK”.

The statement called upon the world and Turkey public opinion to not rely such declarations.
