A huge explosion has occurred on the road between Amed and its Hani district.

Many ambulances have been dispatched to the scene after the blast which could also be heard from Amed city centre.

The explosion has left many wounded, according to initial reports.

While contradictory reports are coming through regarding the cause of the blast, ambulance activity in the area continues.
