People led by the DTK, DBP, HDP, DEM-GENÇ, KJA and the Democratic Alevi Association launched a human shield action in order to end the operations of the Turkish state in Dersim’s Munzur Valley.
Many people including Demokratic Alevi Association Co-President Ayten Şimşir, Dersim Municipality Co-President Mehmet Ali Bul, Peri Municipality Co-President Hüseyin Çetinkaya, Dersim Municipality Deputy Co-President İbrahim Kasun, Demokratic Regions Party Dersim Co-Presidents Hülya Yer and Murat Polat, People’s Democratic Party Dersim Co-President Aslan Çağ, and notable members of the Alevi community participated in the human shield action near the Venk region of Munzur valley on the road between Dersim and Pulur.
'LETS MAKE A VOICE FOR KURDISTAN'
DBP Dersim Co-President Hülya Yer stated that they have launched the action in Munzur Valley in order to end the operations of state forces, and emphasized that the war in the country would not end without the democratic solution of the Kurdish issue. Yer called upon the people of Dersim in Turkish and European metropolitan areas to make a voice for Kurdistan and for an end to the operations of state forces, who attack Munzur Valley with warplanes and tanks.
'AKP SHOULD END THE ISOLATION'
Yer also called upon the AKP to end the isolation of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan and a return to the negotiations. Dersim Municipality Co-Mayor Mehmet Ali Bul refuted the claims that it was Fethullah Gülen’s followers that took down the Russian plane and bombarded Roboski, and said that these claims aimed to cover up the crimes of the AKP.
The human shield action continues, and numerous police officers have recently arrived at the protest area with armored vehicles.
