Civilians continue to escape from ISIS-occupied Mosul and Hawija. In addition to nearly one thousand people that had escaped ISIS, hundreds of civilians have sought refuge in Hawija.
Peshmerga commander Raid Maruf Emin Mıhemmed spoke to ANF on the refugees from Hawija and said that nearly 700-750 people, most of them women and children, have arrived in Kirkuk. Mıhemmed recalled that thousands of people from Mosul and Hawija had escaped ISIS and sought refuge so far, saying that these would be protected and placed into camps in South Kurdistan.
